| Pat Button is the April 2009 Featured
Artist. Pat if a Lifetime Member of TEAA. At the April 10th General Meeting,
Pat shared that although she majored in art in College, she got married
and four children almost immediately after graduation and put her art on
hold. But after the kids were older and starting to leave, and she was single again, she moved to Florida where she got a job doing color separations for printing. A good friend from her college days who was an artist showed up and encouraged her to start painting and showing her work, and Pat began to sell paintings and received awards and ribbon throughout Florida. What she notice was that it technically improved her work. Pat's color separation work included National Geographic, most of the large ski resorts, and Butchart Gardens in Vancouver, B.C. Pat admitted that she was very active until she hit her 80s, and that is when she moved to the Oregon coast to be closer to her children. She found TEAA where she continued to paint and became a well known and popular artist in the Association. |
