About Joan

The Joy of Art

"I have piced flowers where I found them --

Have picked up sea shells and rocks and pieces of wood where there were sea shells and rocks and pieces of wood that I like.

When I found the beautiful white bones on the desert I picked them up and too them home too.

I have used these things to say what is to me the wideness and wonder of the word as I live in it."
On the wideness and wonder
of the world (1939), Georgia O'Keefe

This says it all. It's great fun to roam the beach and find treasures. I love to paint, it is my passion. Working two days a week at the library, along with my garden, and reading books, I have a full life.

Various galleries in the area have shown my work and I belong to theTrails End Art Association, a terrific group of painters. I hope to continue painting for a long time.

With retirement comes the opportunity to do many things you meant to do a long time ago, but it's never too late.
