Janet Willener is May's Featured Artist. Janet was born in Seaside. Her family moved to Santa Barbara. As an adult she traveled around the world with the navy. She ended up in Florida where she studied nursing and became a psychiatric nurse. Later she worked with her son Robert on party planning, where Janet created costumes. She retired to Seaside in 1996 and took art classes at CCC with Royal Nebeker and Mike Hinton. Janet presented a portfolio of her handmade paper and embossing projects. She has used a wide variety of indigenous and invasive species as fiber for her beautiful papers. Janet teaches Eco-Art each summer at the
TEAA Children's Art Camp.
